My Kids Love This! August 21, 2010 S. Cosby (Indiana) In fact,my 1 year old and 2 year old like it so much, I may have to buy another one so they don't fight over it. They don't mind the open end of the mail box. They like to see the letters falling through after they drop them in the slot. It's so simple, yet they play with this more than they do some of their more pricey and complicated toys.
nice but ANNOYING VOICE!! May 22, 2010 D. S. Edwards (port of spain,Trinidad) my 9 month old son has had this for over 1 mth now and has only recently started to play with it. this he does everyday. he loves to spin the ball and move the lever up and down and especially spin the roll on the side of the mailbox. while he loves it i absolutely can not stand that voice! i cringe every time i hear it. i wish fisherprice would use a less over the top recording. i will admit sometimes i shut off the power just to take a break because he plays with this all day. this is a huge draw back for me because while their toys are reasonably priced, i really pass because of the high strung recordings they use. i do not want my child mimicking this way of speaking!!
Very educational, my 1 yr old loves it! April 18, 2010 Rachel Paxton (Pasco, WA USA) We have a lot of baby and toddler toys, and some get played with and some don't. My son received this mailbox for his first birthday, and he loves it. It doesn't do a whole lot compared to some toys, but what it does do he loves. He opens and closes and opens and closes the mailbox and takes the mail in and out and in and out. He is even putting the mail in the top mail slot now. It is a little annoying that the back of it is open, but it's not that big of deal. He likes to play peek a boo...you put your face in the back of it and he opens the box to see you. Has provided hours of entertainment so far.
Great Learning Toy March 24, 2010 S. Bell A great early learning toy that teaches counting, ABC's, song, and motor skills.
My only complaint with it, is that there is no 'wall' on the back of the mailbox. Unless you tape something onto the back of it (like a piece of cardboard), the mail falls out the back, not teaching your child to open the mail door on the front. Other than that, the toy has solid construction.
Lasting Fun March 23, 2010 Christina (Jamaica Plain, MA United States) We got this for my son who was 8 months old at the time. He's been happily playing with it ever since and he's now 1! It has grown with him as in the begining we had to play with it and he'd watch or play with the ball on the snail, he now does everything- opening and closing the mailbox, putting the letters in the slot and moving the "arm" up and down. It's still very entertaining! It's durable too as he throws it and knocks it over all the time. He gets a kick out of the little bird too. Definitely recommend it.
