The toy worked alright for about a month before my daughter outgrew it and was bored with it -- odds are if we had purchased it when she was younger it would have been a better investment. She was about 5 months old when we purchased it.
The suction cup does an OK job holding it in place, it could be a little stronger but it really isn't terrible. The biggest downfall for us was that our daughter was able to pull the toy off of the stand (the striped ring pulls out of the base). This defeated the whole point in the suction cup for us as it was done in an attempt to have a toy that she couldn't throw on the floor every five minutes.

This toy is great in concept, but it never shuts off! There is no off switch, and my son's would go off morning, noon, and night - even in the middle of the night with no one around. I had to throw this toy away after 2 days because it drove us so crazy.

My 7 month old granddaughter is at the "throw it on the floor and watch Grandma pick it up" phase and this toy works great on her high chair tray while I fix her a meal. It lost suction quickly the first few times, but I learned to put some water on the tray before sticking it on and it stays for a long time. She has already figured out that it comes out of the base, but she is too busy spinning it to take it loose. Anything that will entertain her for a few minutes get 5 stars from me.

Maybe it's just me but this toy does not stay stuck to surfaces! I always make sure the suction cup is damp, not wet, and put it on a clean flat surface but within a few minutes, my 5-month old knocks it right off the tray/table/high chair and I have to get it for her. I got this toy so I could get things accomplished and NOT have to retrieve toys for her every 2 minutes. Pretty pointless!

Very cute toy, and it really keeps my 8 mo old daughter entertained at dinner time. The only thing I don't like is that it is very easy for her to pull it out of the suction cup.
