Great Toy in a Bad Package July 20, 2010 Amanda L. Davis (Adrian,MI USA) This comes with lots of fun accessories, but the "suitcase" they come in is totally useless. You can't ever get everything back in after opening it the first time. The container is also very flimsy. I bought a plastic tub for all of our Potato Head stuff.
Recommended for play and learning July 8, 2010 Nawora (tx) My 18 month old daughter has a speech condition that requires 4 hours of therapy a week. She's learning sign language while trying to correct a muscle condition that makes speech difficult for her. Her therapist recommended a Mr. Potato Head. I couldn't believe it. Why on earth would Mr. Potato Head work for speech? Well, not only is he fun, but he helps her work on her words. We printed out cards with different body parts and the different hats and shapes, and as she reaches we work with her to sound out the words. She loves her Potato head. And since he's the "deluxe" version, she has more choices to pick from. He's helping her work on her words while she plays. Plus he's durable enough that when the dog tries to run off with an arm, we're able to rescue it with no harm done. I'm glad Potato head is still around and able to serve a new purpose!
great classic toy May 16, 2010 lovemypups I loved Mr. Potato Head when I was a child and my daughter has always loved these toys, also. I work with children, so I bought this item to keep in my office at work. It came with a great assortment of body parts and accessories, but I expected a package that I could put all the parts back in when it was not being played with. It looks nice in the photo, but once it is opened the parts will not all fit back in the case. I put the small parts in it and kept the potato out of the case and this worked well. The latch on the case does not stay closed, though, so a child cannot carry it by the attached handle without all of the small parts spilling out. If you love Mr. Potato head, this is a great one with lots of parts. Don't depend on having the case to keep your parts in, though.
Mr. Potato Head February 12, 2010 Ronald Brandt I got this toy for my grandchild for Christmas. She really likes it. She is two years old.
Not a bad toy February 8, 2010 T. Yates 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Of course, Mr. Potato Head is a classic and this is no exception. I would say all of the accessories are fairly easy to incorporate and there is plenty of variety to keep you child interested. I would complain that the carrying case is worthless. It doesn't stay closed, or at least the one we received does not. It has not closing latch, so everything falls out when you pick it up. Overall, it's not a bad toy, just find something to keep the accessories in.
