delighted with this product August 13, 2010 greataunt the size is just perfect. it fit comfortably in my hands and the game goes really fast. oops too fast? well there is a go back button, so you can go to last card shown. i like that i do not have to move every card twice. when you win, the game takes over and sends all cards to the suits piles. if you are looking for a game for physical therapy and rehab., i still would recommend it. you do the work to move the cards and then the winning score is posted. then you can quickly move on the next game. keeps my interest.
Sub Par Radica Solitaire July 10, 2010 T. Willmann (Green Bay, WI United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
3 Stars max. I need a magnifying glass to read the buttons names and that is not helpful. The screen has a glare problem causing me to have to adjust the way I am holding the unit as I play. The auto light feature helps eat your batteries and needs an on/off switch because it lights up at times when you do not need the light. Radica has been putting out sub par solitaire units for several years now and I sure can't figure out why. The programming for this unit is a little strange but I can get a win approximately every ten games. My high score is currently 745 with this unit.
Radica's two best units they produced are 1) Model 2320 and 2) the 'Metallic Blue big screen circa 2000' model. I have bought twenty of each and have one left of each model. Radica, I need a quality handheld electronic solitaire game again!!! I have played on average 20 games a day since 1997 when they Model 2320 came out.
All time high scores of 760 on 02/20/07 and 750 on 01/01/10 with the 'Metallic Blue big screen circa 2000' model. I am still playing it while my model 2320 is getting a long deserved rest.
Easy to see big screen solitaire May 15, 2010 A. M. Greenwood I have 3 solitaire games. I love this one the best. It lights up and when I am in bed it is great to reach over and grab. Or early in the morning before I get up. I can take it everywhere anytime and see it. Very sturdy. Easy to handle. Fits in my purse and jacket pockets. Great to take camping.
great toy for adults too February 5, 2010 Connemara (Lombard, IL) I've always liked a handheld solitaire game and my old one died recently so I found and bought this one. They're a great way while away time in airports, trains, car rides and that's exactly why I bought it. The only hand held games I by are made by Radica, I've never had a big problem with them. I like the size of the screen as well as the large buttons. The only problem with mine is that it doesn't light up enough for play in darker places, it also had light scratches underneath the right hand side of the viewer. I'm still pleased with it, these problems are minor and not worth going through the returning it. When this one dies I'll buy another Radica Solitaire, it's the only company I'd buy a hand held game from.
A disappointment! December 12, 2009 S. Ewing (Uvalde TX) This handheld solitaire has some drawbacks which make it annoying. One: The directions are wrong. STANDARD is a Draw 3 and VEGAS is a draw 1. Two: When you use the VEGAS or draw 1 function, it only lets you go through the deck ONCE which is annoying and gives you a limited playing option. Three: The directions don't tell you how to toggle back and forth between VEGAS and STANDARD and since the directions are wrong about which game is which, this makes it doubly confusing. Four: Directions on back of unit are unreadable as they are microscopic size print and in a light grey color. Five: The print on the screen is difficult to distinguish different card suites. Six: Screen doesn't actually say STANDARD game, so you have to intuit that if it doesn't say VEGAS, it is in the STANDARD mode. MY PREFERENCE: I also purchased Mega Screen Solitaire by John N. Hansen Co. from Amazon and it is vastly more enjoyable, except for two things, no backlight and no UNDO function/option.
