Product Description This is mind-expanding, on-the-go game play! The V-Smile Pocket turns game time into brain time by combining a video game platform with educational content in a portable learning system that goes anywhere or connects directly to the television for gaming at home. A truly unique way to approach learning, V-Smile is popular with both the most reluctant student and the most eager learner. The battery-operated pocket console, specially made for children ages five to eight years old, allows early school-age learners to play a variety of exciting and imaginative games anywhere they want. With popular characters to guide them through age-appropriate skill levels and developmental activities, children won't even realize they're learning essential lessons in language, math and science. Many brain-building V.Smile Smartridges are available (sold separately), including Cars, Shrek, Dora, Scooby, Thomas and more! Requires 4 "AA" batteries, included. Measures 14" x 11".
Amazon.com Product Description Who says education and fun don't go hand in hand? The portable VTech V.Smile Pocket Learning System combines video games and educational content for brain-building, on-the-go game play or connecting directly to a television at home. Specifically designed for children between ages five and eight, the Pocket V.Smile is a fun way to learn for both enthusiastic and reluctant students. Built For Kids The Pocket V.Smile's full-color LCD screen with a 320-by-240 pixel resolution competes with the "big kid" video game systems. A unique alternative to other systems, the V.Smile is built inside and out with young children in mind. The big buttons are made for a child's hands, and the games build skills in spelling, logic, counting, problem solving, phonics, and vocabulary. Kids get so engrossed with the V.Smile that they won't even realize how much they're developing their minds in language, science and math. Because they can carry the handheld device wherever they go, kids can learn and play independently while parents can rest assured they are providing something healthy, age-appropriate, and educational. At Home Or On-The-Go With the included A/V cable, the Pocket V.Smile hooks up directly to televisions as well, requiring no additional equipment. Not only does this option keep kids in one place and allow them to learn and play using a larger screen, but it also makes it easier for them to share the in the fun with friends and siblings -- even parents. More Favorites The Pocket V.Smile plays all the same "Smartridges" for the original V.Smile system. This learning system comes bundled with one Smartridge called Zayzoo My Alien Classmate, which teaches skills in math, shapes, time concepts, music, directions, English, and more. A wide selection of other wholesome video games are available separately, involving many favorite characters like Scooby Doo, Dora, Thomas, and Shrek. The Pocket V.Smile requires four "AA" heavy duty batteries (included); alkaline batteries are recommended for longer life and optimum performance. What's in the Box Pocket V.Smile, one Smartridge, A/V cable, wrist strap, manual, and four "AA" batteries.

don't buy it July 19, 2010 momx2 Don't buy this toy, it will turn on, but won't play any of the games, makes my son very upset. I hear the leapster works better
Poor quality. Needs to last more than a year with normal use. March 23, 2010 sarah I've gone through at least 3 or 4 Vsmiles in the past 2 years. After normal use, the systems start having glitches and stop working. I thought it was just my kids, because they love their vtech and leapsters. (BYW not one leapster has broken yet). I've come to the conclusion that if you have a vpocket and your kids like playing with it, you should expect it to die very soon. I considered buying the cyber pocket but the reviews on that are worse...their newer model. Also the AC adapters for the vpocket don't work with the games!! so I had to constantly put in batteries. If I want them to play with their many games I've bought them ,,,,I'd have to keep buying their handheld systems every few months...no one likes being loaded with a money pit.
This educational toy is AWESOME..My 4 year old learns while playing with this system for hours. February 4, 2010 Amanda Pugh (Augusta; Ga.) I must admit that my 4 year old son learns a lot of preschool basics from this system, while playing various educational games for hours. I am going to purchase another (v-pocket), to keep at his grandmothers house, so that he won't have to carry it back and forth. This system is truly amazing for the both of us. He gets to learn as a 4 year old and I get to be a truly proud parent. Thank you so much V-smile for this educational tool..you as well should be proud developers of this helpful tool for small preschoolers. God Bless You all...Amanda Pugh from Augusta, Ga.
V-tech V-smile - LOVE IT November 5, 2009 Chris Happel (QCA, IL) My daughter was jumping up and down over this toy. She was counting, adding, using language skills and smiling the whole time. I literally had to pry it from her hands several nights when she fell asleep playing it. This is also a very good car ride toy. Parts are easy to keep track of and give hours of quiet play. No more "Are we there yet?" every 10 minutes, only every couple hours.
JUNK!!! September 24, 2009 H. Kusilek 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have purchased 6 vsmile, and/or vsmile cyberpockets and all of them have stopped working shortly after purchase. I have tried using only batteries, only the 9volt plug in, and still the system shuts down, and never powers up again. So disappointing. I have 10 games that are useless to my kids, because the machines are junk. Don't waste your money.
