I purchased this for my son when he was about 8 months old. He started out mostly playing with the toys on the front but by 9 months was using it pretty well. Now at 10 months he runs all over the living room with it and is even walking on his own! My favorite thing about the walker has to be that the game unit comes off and he can just use the toys. He loves the toys, there are so many different activities to keep him entertained and I have to admit that even I enjoy playing with this! I wish I had bought it when he was younger as he could have enjoyed the toys well before he used the walker. The walker itself is nice and sturdy, although I do recommend close supervision especially when they are just learning how to use it. This is a great alternative to the sit-in walkers. My son is on the move and does not like to be confined in any kind of seat. Plus they can use the walk behind walker for a longer time than the sit-in kind. Even now that he can walk on his own he still loves pushing it around. If you are looking for a walker that will grow with them and give you more than a couple months of use, I highly recommend this one!

We were looking for a toy to help our daughter walk, something she could push. The problem with this toy is that on the hardwoods it goes really fast and its hard for our daughter to control the speed and steering. So I found myself walking with her to help her but that is not so much fun for my back! On the carpet it is great. She really likes this toy and laughs whenever she walks while pushing it. She also likes all the activity on the front. I think it helped her with her walking and even though she can walk on her own now she still likes to play with this toy. You can also take off the acitivy board and play with it separately which is nice.

You remember that scene from "Airplane" where everyone lines up to slap the hysterical woman? That's how I felt about the Vtech sit-to-stand learning farm walker. I wanted to grab it, shake it, and yell "shut up shut up! No one is playing with you right now so stop blipping and blooping like a maniac!" In a desperate ploy for attention, this thing loves to blare music and light up, even when baby long ago moved on to something else. It's MTV for today's generation of AD&D babies.
The learning farm has two volume settings: super loud and ultra, mega loud. Not only is it loud, it's also repetitive. Although it has about 11 songs, it prefers to loop one or two. The hard plastic wheels slide more than roll, on most surfaces. It also features a quaint late-90s-era telephone handset-- probably the only one your baby will ever see outside of a museum in his lifetime.
I guess all this overstimulation would be fine, if someone could prove to me that baby will become a genius as a result. But I'm a little skeptical that he's learning much. As another reviewer noted, the buttons do not respond consistently. If you push one of the 5 colored buttons along the bottom, the response rotates through several possible answers. It all just seems like an arbitrary jumble of lights and sounds.
As a walker, baby sometimes scoots it along, mostly on his knees. He generally seems to get better practice from cruising along other objects around the house. Just remember that babies have been learning to walk for eons. I'm pretty sure caveman babies didn't have vtech learning farm walkers, and I'm sure they turned out fine.

After much research online and asking friends who had the Vtech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker, I must say it was one of the more disappointing toys I've bought. I originally did a lot of research because I wanted a learning walker capable of allowing my son to pull himself up and learn to stand and eventually walk. I was looking at this one and a MUCH CHEAPER Fisher Price one. I decided to get this one because many people said the wheels on the Fisher Price model roll too fast. Well so does the Vtech. Plus the sound from the toy is way too loud and obnoxious. I should have bought the Fisher Price. Wish I can return this.
Toys DO not Work! May 16, 2010

I purchased this walker for my son and it never worked right from the beginning. The sound on it was really muffled and he couldn't hear it. Within 2 weeks the toys on it quit working altogether. My sister-in-law also bought this walker and she did not have the same sound problem with hers, so I thought maybe I just got a bad one. However after a month or so all of her toys also quit playing sound! New batteries did not help. My son did have a lot of fun pushing it around, but I could have bought a cheaper one if that was all that it was going to be good for.
